Loss Myth #1:
Carbs Make You Put On Weight ...
Carbohydrates by themselves (as part of a healthy diet)
will not make you put on weight. It's the
type, quality, and quantity of the carbohydrates.
Whole grain and wholemeal carbohydrates (such as
brown rice and wholemeal bread) are healthy ... And will
increase your fibre intake— that can
lower cholesterol.

✔ 5 Important
Vitamins:
To be healthy it's important to get enough
vitamins and minerals. In fact, they are imperative
for maintaining your body's health and well-being
... However many times the food we eat doesn't contain
enough of them and so you may consider including
the following supplements in your diet:
Vitamin A—Maintains healthy teeth and
good vision
Vitamin B—Helps you get energy, help
carry oxygen to your body
Vitamin C—Helps keep your gums and muscles
intact, also helps to prevent infections
Vitamin D—Maintains strong bones and
teeth Vitamin E—Contains
antioxidants
If you are lacking in any of these, it's possible you
may feel the effects somehow. It's advised that people
should take a mineral and vitamin
supplement daily.

Loss Myth #2:
Healthier Food Is More
Expensive ...
There is a common misconception that healthy food is
more expensive ... However by replacing ingredients
with healthier alternatives — you may
even save money. Comparing the price per unit
of weight, healthier food is often cheaper.
In one study in 2013
researchers discovered that healthy eating —
including high in fruits, vegetables, and nuts —
costs just $1.50 more each day per person. The
word "health" doesn't necessarily equal "expensive".

The 5 Health Benefits Of Olive Oil:
Olive oil is a type of
fat extracted from the olive tree which is a
traditional tree from the Mediterranean basin.
Besides cooking, olive oil is used in
pharmaceuticals and the cosmetics
industry. The health benefits of olive oil are
numerous ... And the reason why it has been called
"The Mediterranean Miracle."
Here are some of the benefits:
Benefit #1: The oil contains Phenolic
Antioxidants, Terpenoid, and Squalene which are all
considered anti-cancer compounds.
Benefit #2: Olive oil also contains Oleic
Acid which may prevent chronic inflammation and
reduce the damage that free radicals cause to body cells.
Benefit #3: Furthermore, it may
reduce incidences of type 2 diabetes, as the
oil has Monounsaturated Fats ... (Like those found in
seeds and nuts.)
Benefit #4: The oil may also reduce
osteoporosis. (This is a type of infection which causes
reduction in the mass of bones putting people at a risk
of fractures.)
Benefit #5: And finally blood pressure may be
significantly balanced through intake of
sufficient amounts of olive oil.

Please do not consume any more than 2 tablespoons
(23 grams) of olive oil a day, because it can be

Weight Loss Myth #3:
Foods Labelled 'Low Fat'
Are healthy ...
Just because a food is labelled "low fat" doesn't
necessarily make it healthy. In fact many processed
low fat foods often contain a lot of salt, sugar, and
artificial colors and sweeteners.
Unfortunately many people associate the term "low
fat" with "health" or "healthy foods". Often what
is meant is that the product contains less fat than the
full fat version.
So rather than just trusting the health claims on
the packaging It's important to look at
the nutrition facts to see how healthy these
products really are.

5 Steps For Healthy Eating:
By making the habit of
eating healthily, not only will you be more healthy in
general, you will also look and feel better about
yourself. You will have more energy and think more
clearly ... And your immune system will be
strengthened.
Step 1: Create a simple Food Planner with the
following columns: (1) "Unhealthy Food" (2) "Good Food
Replacement" (3) "Healthy Food And Snacks"
Step 2: Pick 3-5 foods that you like to eat
but you know are unhealthy for you and you're ready and
willing to find a healthy replacement for. Then
add them to the "Unhealthy Food" category. Tip: Begin
with the foods that will be the easiest for you to
replace.
Step 3: In the "Good Food" column, add as
many healthy foods you can think of that you like
— or would like to try — and would be a good
replacement for the unhealthy food.
Tip: A simple glass of water can be a good
replacement. Step 4: Refer to your list when
you're tempted to eat something unhealthy, enjoy your
healthy meal — and give yourself a pat on the back
for choosing to be healthier.
Step 5:
Add a selection of healthy foods and snacks that are
convenient, so that when you just have to have something
to eat, you are able to make a healthy choice.

Weight Loss Myth #4:
All Weight Loss Pills
Are Safe ...
Just because a product is "natural" — and marketed
as being "natural" — that doesn't
necessarily mean that it's safe.
Many diet pills and supplements have been linked
to serious health problems including liver
damage. Including the supplement Ephedra (that is now
banned by the FDA). If you have health conditions like
diabetes or high blood pressure some supplements can be
harmful.
It's strongly recommended that you talk
with your Doctor before taking any pill or
supplement —
Especially if you have health problems, take
prescription drugs, or are pregnant.

✔ The 5
Health Benefits Of Green Tea:
Green is a very popular
drink and extremely healthy for you. Many of the
health benefits of the tea come from EGCG, which is a
powerful natural antioxidant.
This antioxidant will speed up your metabolism
— giving you a better sense of well-being
and making it easier for you to lose weight.
Here are more of the benefits:
Benefit #1: The antioxidant-compounds found in
green tea may protect you from certain types
of cancer. Multiple studies indicate that green tea
drinkers have a lower risk of developing cancer.
Benefit #2: Green tea may reduce your
risk of developing heart disease. A 2013 review published
in "The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition" linked
this benefit to the tea's flavonoids.
Benefit #3: Because of the Theanine (an amino
acid) naturally found in green tea, it can provide
a relaxing effect that may help with
depression.
Benefit #4: Green tea may help you live
longer. A study of 40,530 Japanese adults found that
those who drank 5 or more cups of green tea per day were
significantly less likely to die over a 11-year
period.
Benefit #5: Several controlled trials indicate
that green tea can cause mild reductions in blood
sugar levels — and may lower your risk of
developing type 2 diabetes.

Weight Loss Tip #1:
Drink Plenty Of Water
...
According to The U.S. Geological Survey, water makes up
to 60% of our bodies and is vital to the
survival and function of the body's systems.
Studies have shown there is a positive correlation
between increased water intake and weight loss. In
fact, 30-59% of US adults who are trying to lose
weight increase their water intake.
Other studies have shown
that drinking water before a meal may aid weight loss.
Also, water is a natural appetite suppressant
.
And helps our bodies
break down fats and other lipids ... Through the
metabolic process known as "lipolysis".

✗ 11 Signs There
May Be Too Many Toxins In Your Body:
Every day people are
subjected to toxins. These build up in the body and
mean that instead of dealing with natural
substances, our kidneys and livers have to handle
lots of foreign matter. And this can make people more
susceptible to stress.
So if you are constantly feeling as if you are
stressed out and tired — then a good
detox program could be exactly what you need.
Here are the other symptoms there may be too many
toxins in your body:
Overly rapid pulse rate
Swollen ankles
Craving sweet or
salty/fatty foods
Poor digestion
Insomnia/problems sleeping
Cellulite
Decreased sex drive
Problems in concentrating
Dry mouth
Bladder problems
These are the most common symptoms and can be
easily remedied with a good detox program. You
may also experience increased energy levels, improved
mental clarity, healthy clear skin, and more.

Eating foods rich in fibre (especially viscous
fibre) can help with losing weight. Fibre is a
carbohydrate found in plant foods like fruits,
vegetables, and whole grains.

fibre every day can help with losing weight. It can
also reduce the risk of diabetes and
cancers.
However — like many weight loss methods —
for long term results ... It's recommended as part of

✔ 5 Simple
Exercises That May Improve Your Immune System:
Here is a list of
exercises older people commonly enjoy. These will help
keep you in shape and may naturally help
improve your ability to fight infection.
Swimming: Light swimming is great
because it is easy on the joints and works
every muscle group. If you are not able to
swim you can still get in the pool and enjoy an aqua
aerobics or related class.
Stair Climbing: This is helpful provided you
have strong knees and — if you choose to —
can climb outdoors where the air is fresh.
Walking Or Jogging: Many people find they
start walking and eventually end up jogging. Jogging on
soft terrain (sand or soil) is easier on the knees
than on pavement.
Biking: Try a reclined bike —
that allows you to sit in a way that doesn't harm
your body. This type of cycle allows you to sit at an
angle instead of straight up and down, so it is easier
to stay on for longer sessions.
Yoga: This s a wonderful form of exercise
that can improve your immunity and help improve
your body's flexibility. Many of the poses are
cleansing and gentle ... So great for someone that would
like a "moving meditation".

calories can slow down — making it more

✔ How To Exercise
Healthily ... Without Going To The Gym:
Sometimes it's just not
practical to make it to the gym. That's understandable.
So here are 4 simple alternatives:
1. Walk Or Run ... Walking or running is a
great way to exercise and burn fat ... Build strong bones
... Strengthen muscles ... And improve
your cardiovascular fitness.
2. Focus On "Core Training" ... This can
include an easy way to get a good ab work out at
home. When you begin shedding all that extra fat
— you will start to see more abdominal definition.
3. Do Light Weight Lifting (Or Exercise Bands)
... A few adjustable dumbbells and/or exercise
resistance bands are inexpensive ... And great for doing
sets of curls or shoulder presses.
4. Consider Doing Pullups ... A simple $20

that can strengthen your muscles, improve your
overall fitness levels, and even improve your

for example, give a burst of energy ... However they are
followed by a "crash".
Vitamins helps our overall health —
however at the same time we might absorb all of the
nutrients. So here are 4 ways to increase
your energy:
[1] Eat More Often — "3 meals a day" is
a traditional idea of healthy eating ... However,
following that plan can sap your energy and make you feel
sluggish Instead, eating small meals
every 3 to 4 hours helps keep blood sugar up ...(So

[3] Get Moving ... Even a simple 10-minute

the American Heart Association found that a short stroll
can be invigorating.
[4] Hydrate The Healthy Way ... Staying hydrated

Weight Loss Myth #5:
Cutting Out All Snacking
Is Important ...
When trying to lose weight, snacking isn't the problem.
Actually — it's the type of
snack that makes the difference. For example: Crips,
chocolate, and other snacks (high in salt, sugar, and
fat) won't help.
However some snacking — like a low-fat yogurt
or a piece of fruit — can actually promote
weight loss
... How? Because it
may help reduce food cravings ... Help you

your energy levels up.

✔ How To Avoid
Being 'Scammed' By Unscrupulous Vendors:
Buyer beware: There are many health-related scams
online — everything from "Fad Diets" (that don't
actually work) — to eBooks that don't provide any
real value — to phoney weight loss
supplements.
Tip:
See Online For Reviews About The Product. If a
product is legitimate, helpful, or even
ground-breaking ... You should be able to find
reviews from other customers and users who
recommend it.
(Similarly if the product is questionable, there should
be "negative" reviews etc.) So do your research.
Here's what to look out for:
#1: "Over-Promising" — Particularly In
Advertising ... You need to assess whether the
"promises" associated with the product you are looking
at are realistic or if they are overhyped.
For example a diet that promises you'll lose several
pounds a day — with little effort — is
something to be sceptical of as it's likely a
exaggeration. If it seems "too good to be true", it
probably is.
#2: eBooks That Make "Bold Claims" ... If
the claims aren't substantiated, or the author doesn't
provide any proven examples, then be
cautious. There are a lot of unethical "marketers"
out there who don't provide any real value.
|
Weight Loss Myth #6:
You Need A Radical
Exercise Regime ...
Actually — to be successful at losing weight
— it's important to make small changes. (That
you can do consistently over time ...)
The truth is that you can lose
weight faster through your diet than an exercise
regime ... In fact, trying to lose weight just
by being active is very difficult.
Why? Because our energy balance is mostly
determined by what we eat and our metabolic rate.
However exercise can certainly help with shedding
pounds — it's just the most effective method.
The American College Of Sports Medicine recommends
250-300 minutes of "moderate intensity" exercise
— every week for burning calories.
Combining both diet and
activity (that you can do consistently) will help you
burn those calories.

✗ 5 Factors That
Can Weaken Your Immune System:
Your immune system may be compromised in many
ways. However it's important to look at it like a
"complex machine" — which it is — and take
good care of it. Here are the factors:
Factor #1:
"Consuming Too Much Fast Food — Or Saturated
Fat ..." This fat can also clog your arteries,
contribute to type II diabetes, and increase the
total body fat you carry around with you.
Factor #2:
"Not Enough Sleep ..." This can change the
hormone levels in your body and cause you to eat more.
Also, it may increase your susceptibility to
common colds and infections.
Factor #3:
"Too Much Stress" ... This can lead to heart
attacks, high blood pressure, depression, and other
disorders. With less stress, your body will be
better at fighting disease.
Factor #4:
"Too Much Sleep ..." It's
important to sleep, however if you find yourself
sleeping more than 10 hours/day, you may have a
health problem. Most people do well when they sleep 6 to
8 hours/day.
Factor #5:
"Eating Too Much — Or Not Enough ..."
When you deprive yourself of food for too long your body
goes into starvation mode ... This slows down your
metabolism and you will gain weight. If you eat too much
you increase the risk of developing chronic health
conditions.

Weight Loss Myth #7:
Starving Yourself Is The
Best Way ...
Starving yourself — and/or crash diets — are
not only ineffective, they can actually be quite
dangerous ...
Also, when you lose a lot of weight in a short period
of time, your "resting metabolism" drastically
slows down ... And this means your body is
burning fewer calories and that makes it difficult to
maintain.
So remember —
contrary to what you may have heard — it's
important not to "starve" yourself: Eat small
meals instead.

✔ Simple
Lifestyle Changes To Help You Lose Weight:
Follow this lifestyle advice for being healthier and
losing weight:
1. Practice Moderation ... Never eating
anything sweet or sugary ever again just isn't fun
— or realistic. Allow yourself the
occasional "treat" in moderation. Plan smart and
you'll still be able to enjoy what you love
without hindering your health or weight
loss goal(s).
2. Expand Your Palate ... Try different foods
on a regular basis. You may find your next favourite
healthy snack(s). And by incorporating new healthy
foods into your diet, it keeps things from getting
boring.
3. Eat Small, Frequent, Meals ... The stress
hormone Cortisol rises after we don't eat for a
few hours. Eating regularly helps control and
maintain blood sugar — so you won't have
any sudden drops or spikes — thereby helping you
eat less and lose weight.
4. Be A "Picky" Diner ... Don't be afraid to
ask for modifications to menu items when dining
out at restaurants ... If you order vegetables, ask that
they be cooked in olive oil, not butter. There are tons
of "calorie traps" at restaurants — but if you're
smart — you can work your way around them.
| Important Advice/Warning
|
|
Please check with your Doctor or Physician before
making any major changes to your diet or lifestyle,
because it could cause health problems. Please
do not ignore this advice.
|
|
Weight Loss Myth #8:
Skipping Meals Is A Good
Strategy ...
Skipping meals is not an effective weight loss
strategy. In fact, it can lead to overeating,
tiredness, and snacking on high fat and high sugar foods
— causing you to put on weight.
Also it causes the body to lower its
metabolism, causing you to burn less calories.
To lose weight — and keep it off — you
have to reduce the amount of calories you
consume ... And increase the calories you burn by
exercising.
If you don't meet your body's energy needs, it
will begin to store calories rather than burn
them.
It's recommended by
Experts that you eat regular, balanced meals and healthy
snacks ... Including fruit and veg.

✔ The 4
Benefits Of A Raw Food Diet:
Because of the way it affects the digestive system,
the "modern diet" (especially one filled with
processed foods) depletes the body's energy levels
... However, a raw food diet is known to help people
feel more energetic.
Here are more benefits:
#1: Risk Of Heart Disease May Be Reduced ...
Heart disease is a big problem in our modern society.
Poor diet and lack of exercise add to the problem.
However the raw food diet can help with peoples' heart
disease risk. Because — not only is it a primarily
vegetarian diet — it also contains a higher
content of nutrients and enzymes than
normal.
#2: It Helps To Enhance Your overall Appearance
... The raw food diet helps you look your best
because it contains a good balance of
nutrients to help keep your skin, hair, and nails looking
healthy. Unfortunately, when we eat poorly, our
appearance suffers.
#3: You Can Lose Weight With The Raw Food Diet
...This diet is naturally low in fat and
calories. And so it can help you with your weight loss
goal(s) ... In fact, many people are so pleased by the
results and the way it makes them feel, they
don't want to return to their previous diets.
#4: Your Digestion May Improve ... The modern
Western diet depletes the digestive system. However
because the raw foods diet contains enzymes of its
own, the digestive system doesn't need to release a lot
of its own enzymes — and this leads to greater
efficiency within the digestive system.

Weight Loss Tip #4:
Do Not Stock Junk
...
To avoid temptation, do not stock junk food
— such as chocolate, biscuits, and crisps ...
Because you will be more likely to give into
temptation when you know you have the food you
crave.
So choose "healthy snacks" instead ... (Including
fresh berries, fruit smoothies, and peanut
butter). These foods and others like them have
nutritional value and can help beat cravings. Many
foods that are thought of as being "healthy" are actually
junk food ...
For instance some fruit
drinks — while marketed as having
vitamins and minerals — can actually have the
same amount of sugar and calories as soda.

Weight Loss Tip #5:
Read Food Labels ...
Knowing how to read food labels can empower you
to make healthier choices. It's important to look at:
1. Serving size 2. Calories 3. Carbs and protein 4.
Fibre 5. Sodium 6. Ingredient list. Most pre-packed
foods have a nutrition label on the back or side of the
packaging. Don't worry if you don't 100%
understand food labels — neither do many
other People.
A 2005 survey by AJ Nielsen & Co. found that only
half of consumers understood nutrition labels only
"In part" ... And only 2 out of 10
said they consistently read them.
Also, marketing terms such as "Fresh," "No
additives," and "Natural" simply add to the
problem ... Although these terms look good on
packaging, they aren't regulated. And thereby are
not necessarily healthier for you.
Furthermore, labels can help you choose between
products ... And helps you be mindful that these products
can be high in fat, salt, and sugars.

✔ How To Read
Nutrition Labels:
1. Serving Size ... Please pay complete and total
attention to this number. Everything that follows
will apply to only 1 serving. Unscrupulous food companies
will often exaggerate the number of servings in a
container or package to make it seem the calorie count
is lower. Don't fall for this trick.
2. Percentage Of Daily Value ... This is based
on a 2000 calorie a day diet for a moderately
active person. Use it only as a rough
guideline as it can vary greatly based on gender,
activity level, age, height, weight, and so on.
3. Fat ... Your total fat. Further broken down
into saturated fats, trans fat, monounsaturated and
polyunsaturated fats. Both saturated and
trans-fat should be avoided. Monounsaturated
and polyunsaturated fats, on the other hand carry some
health benefits. These are the healthier fats
found in things like olive oil and avocado.
4. Cholesterol ... Doctors suggest keeping
your cholesterol intake below 300mgs a day to
avoid the risk of heart disease. Below 150mgs a
day is an even better target.
5. Sodium ... High sodium intake will make you
retain water and weigh more on the scale. For a healthy
heart it's suggested to stay below 1500mgs a day. Keep
an eye on prepared food they are often
over-loaded with sodium.
6. Carbohydrates ... Split between fibre
(good) and sugar (bad). Aim for a low carb intake
while slimming down and things will go much smoother.
7. Protein ... Aim for around .5 a gram for
every pound you weigh. If you are working out very hard
more is even better. This is where most of your
calories should be coming from.
8. Vitamins And Minerals ... This includes
both the vitamins and minerals naturally contained
in the food as well as anything artificially added by the
manufacturer.
9. Ingredients ... These will be listed in
order of the amount contained in the food product. Here's
another area where some companies will try to
deceive so pay close attention.

lose weight (without working out):
[1] Banish The Word "Diet" From Your
Vocabulary — It's recommended that you move
away from thinking in terms of "diet" ... And more in
terms of "Lifestyle". Why? Partly because
operating on a diet type of "mindset" creates
restriction in your head.
[2] Load Up On Protein And Fats —
Protein helps build connective tissue, skin and hair
cells ... And also builds muscle. There are some
good fats also — such as polyunsaturated fats

...

✔ 5 Tips For A
Happy Spiritual Life:

that you're living your life the way you were designed
to. So here are 5 points that will help you live a life
of purpose and meaning:
#1: Have Faith In Your Personal Power ...
This can be to one's faith in a specific
religion — however faith is not necessarily limited
to religion. Believe that you have been given certain
qualities and that there is a "Universal Source" that
connects one to all ... And believe that you
are capable of doing great and satisfying
things — and that you'll get through all those
ups and downs in life.
#2: Have Patience In Your Wait For The
Right Things At The Right Time ... Patience is a
virtue and not easily come by, which makes for lots of
opportunities to grow in this area. We want things
right when we think of them. Instant gratification is
mainstream in society and it seems that it should
be that way in our Spiritual life ... However we're not
here to make the rules, we're here to discover the
good life.
#3: Generate Love Continuously And About
Everything ... To love under any circumstances
really is the greatest achievement of all
and it's really not that hard once you have a few years
of practice under your belt ... Love does make the World
work right and feeling love in difficult situations will
make your inner World a much happier place:
#4: Develop Prayer Practice ... Don't worry
about all those rules out there about how to pray. You
just need to have the intention to connect
with your Creator — and be aware of
what you're thankful for, what you'd like in your life,
and what you'd like for others. Say it out loud, think
it, or even write it down in your very own prayer journal.
#5: Be Aware Of Creation ... Nature is all
around us, providing, nurturing, and sharing. Take time
to spend quiet moments in natural surroundings and be
aware of how perfectly nature lives ...
You'll soon strengthen your faith in the gifts and
abilities that have been given to you to live a truly
blessed life.
